They're multiplying! This month we have taken delivery of yet another GF Machining Solutions Mikron XSM400u-LP to further increase our 5-axis capacity and keep up with customer demand.
We love these machines for their high speed 42,000 RPM Step-Tec spindles, linear direct drive technology and 27 position automated pallet changers.

One year after achieving AS9100D and ISO9001 certification with NQA, PMFG have successfully passed the first surveillance audit with flying colours receiving 0 non-conformances and very good feedback from our NQA auditor Ewan Cohen.

Upon customer request and in-line with our commitment to continual improvement, we have added in-house laser marking capability with this new Lotus Lasers µMeta MOPA Fiber Laser Marking Machine. This machine boasts a high-performance ELI-MOPA 30W / 17 waveform MOPA fiber laser, giving us the capability to mark part numbers, serial numbers, QR codes and graphic logos in a whole range of materials from PEEK to Inconel and everything in between.

PMFG implement the Tricorn MRP system by FitFactory to further streamline all aspects of manufacturing operations from quotation right through to delivery. This award winning software will be used to manage key areas of the business such as quotations, works orders, purchasing & invoicing, goods-in deliveries, stock control, C of Cs, traceability and calibration to name a few.

PMFG has successfully achieved AS9100D approval after completion of our Stage 2 audit with NQA in February. This comes as part of a wider initiative to expand further into the defence & aerospace sectors. We are incredibly proud of our team for all their hard work. Special thanks also to Jim Ledger at Optimum Manufacturing Solutions for helping to build our QMS and achieve certification!

PMFG expand milling capabilities with the addition of a GF Mikron XSM400u-LP 5 axis machine. This XSM series machine is incredibly fast and accurate, boasting a variety of impressive features such as: 100m/min feed rates, 42k STEP-TEC spindle, linear motors and a 27 position automatic pallet changer. The XSM400u-LP is perfectly suited to high complexity, tight tolerance components in high volume production runs or high-mix low volume automation.

We have now taken delivery of our new Mitutoyo Crysta Apex-S 544 CMM to expand our inspection capabilities. This addition will compliment and validate the precision of our Mikron GF 5 axis machines allowing us to fully maximise their potential.
